Puppies and Kittens

I had a Dr's appointment this morning after work. We saw one of Dr B's partner's Dr N. She said everything looks great and to "keep on reading to the baby and playing her music." Andrew and I both looked at each other kind of panicked b/c we have not read her one book!!! We are horrible parents!!! I have played her a song or two from the iphone, but I need to get on this!!! We have a few books for her, but I am leaving most of the book selection to her personal librarian (my mom) who requested to play this role in her life. So to redeem ourselves, I swung by Target on the way home and purchased the Baby Touch and Feel Puppies and Kittens book. I got home and read it to her on the couch while eating my chick-fil-a. I feel much better about the situation now! I picked this book b/c her big brothers both have appearances in it!

So our prayers have been answered.....

I'M GOING TO DAY SHIFT!!!!!!!

Yes it's true! In just 2 short weeks, when the new schedule starts, I am finally being moved up to days after 2 years and 9 months of working the night shift!!!! Oh this could not have come at a better time! I found out this morning and got to tell Andrew when he met me for my appointment! Praise the Lord!! He is picking up Cheddars to go for tonight and then we are going to go celebrate tomorrow night!!!!

31 weeks tomorrow and my first shower is on Saturday!!!! I can't wait!!!

29 weeks

29 weeks!!! Last week of the 20's! I can't believe I'll be 30 weeks this Friday! I had another great appointment last week. BP was great, total weight gain is 15 lbs, baby's HR was 152, and I was measuring right at 29 weeks at 28 weeks and 5 days. I am going every 2 weeks now. I remember thinking I would never get to this point in the pregnancy! I need to pick a pedi soon, and I think I have narrowed it down to 2 within the same group. I worked Thurs, Fri, and Sat night last week and I was pretty much spent come Sunday morning. I can still do 3 nights in a row, but boy is it getting harder! Craving of the week: those little chocolate hostess donettes!!! SO GOOD!!! Something cute the past few weeks...she has been head down with her little butt on my right side. You can feel and see her little tush moving back and forth. It's so cute! I could just sit and watch my belly move all day. My pillow count is up to 4 now! Body pillow on my left, 2 pillows on my right for when I switch sides so I don't have to re-situate the body pillow, and 1 under my head! We just got a king bed last summer and I barely even see husband way over there on the other side with my pillow fort between us!

29 weeks

First Baby Project

I was so excited to do my first baby project!!! I ordered some reeeeally cute bows off Etsy and was looking for a bow holder of some sort. Once I found a style I liked, I thought to myself..."I can make this probably for alot cheaper!" So I did!

Supplies... frame, paint, paintbrush, and ribbon.

Step 2: Hot glue ribbon to back and clip on cute bows!!! Voila!

I am very proud of it and husband is very proud that I didn't have to spend alot of money!

We've got a 2 pounder!

We had a sono today to check on our little sweetie. I thought the big 18 week sono was going to be the last one so we were suprised and excited when Dr B mentioned the 28 week sono! My mom and dad took off the afternoon to come out to Dallas to see their little granddaughter! It was a much quicker sono that the others. It was over before we knew it! I'm glad they give you a dvd of it, so I can watch it 10 times when we get home!

Her heartrate was 138 bpm. She was measuring right on track and weighs 2 lbs 12 oz! The last time we saw her she only weighed 8 oz. We got a couple cute profile pics, and confirmed for a 3rd time that she really is a girl! Good thing b/c her first of many bow headbands arrived in the mail yesterday! Overall, everything looked great, and we are so thankful for that.

I am feeling pretty good! I have felt a few braxton-hicks contractions lately. They didn't hurt at all, and honestly I wouldn't have even known they were there if I hadn't felt my stomach. I maybe feel a few a day. Just to make sure I asked Dr. R today and he said it's ok since my cervix is measuring 3.0 cm. Just keep hydrated, especially on the nights I work!

Tomorrow I have my appointment with Dr B. Now starts the appointments every 2 weeks. I can't believe we are already at that point! Following is my 27 week picture from last week...

And yes, the Christmas decorations are down now! When I was taking them down I was thinking to myself that next year I will have an 8 month old to experience Christmas with!!! I can't wait!!!!

Baby Hiccups

So I'm sitting here at work tonight and I think I can feel Reese hiccuping!!! I got the doppler out and dopplered her heart rate and I could hear her little hiccups!!! What a sweet baby!!!
